Clarissa is the current reincarnation of the queen of wraiths, but also the first “true” reincarnation since her soul was otherwise revived due to her spell binding her to Soleil's cycle. As such, Clarissa has no memory of her past lives, and her magic has also been sealed to give a better picture of what she could be as a normal person (furry). And so far so good despite some rather unfortunate bumps in her childhood such as her parents dying and questionable inclinations towards grudges and revenge (it's fine). Overall she was bright and peppy with a love of dance, untillll she was nearly killed in an accident and Aaryn had to intervene and very quickly craft a cover story about who he was and why he kept helping her. Things quickly escalated from there after Rydain discovered that his queen was revived once more and Clarissa moved into Aaryn's apartment for safety. She's aware that Something big is going on with her but hasn't been able to sleuth it out yet. She's currently a college student and studying dance, which she is trying very hard not to be a competitive ass about.

Soleil Desrosiers

Soleil used to be so noble and compassionate but, man, did learning and living through the constant cycles start to wear her down. She reached her breaking point in the most recent cycle after regaining her memories too soon and realized that she had never gotten a chance since this started to live her own life without the constant risks to her life and the sacrifices she had to make. Desperate for a way to break the cycle, Soleil did the reasonable thing and sold her soul to a demon named Leraje to become a demon herself and killed the queen of wraiths before she even did anything besides brood about her life choices. Since Soleil can no longer have a natural death, she's hoping that the queen will never have the chance to revive without her. Unfortunately, this did not stop Soleil's paranoia that she would find a way to do so anyhow, and she started looking into other possible methods and became a museum curator in order to get easier access to magical artifacts. After learning enough that her suspicions might have had some truth to them after all, she unseals Rydain to grill him about the queen, but he is absolutely useless and is now just along for the ride. At least he keeps Aaryn out of her business.

Aaryn is a principality of muses who is one strong push away from falling. While he had originally been genuine and enjoyed helping Soleil's group throughout their past cycles, her betrayal at a time when he was already struggling with the loss of his host turned him bitter and cynical. Despite that, he still takes his angelic duties very seriously and overcompensates with working himself to death and faking amiability, which was a really great time for his goddess to order him to keep watch over Clarissa since he meddled so much with them in the past anyway. Aaryn is holding everything together through sheer force of will at this point and the cracks are starting to show. He has, however, genuinely developed a soft spot for Clarissa after spending so much time with her and he doesn't like that either considering, uh, how often he helped kill her in the past. As a fun aside, he has a giant chip on his shoulder about his choir of angels not being made for fighting and being weaker as a result.

Rydain

Demon Blade | Fallen Throne of Love

Rydain was once a throne of love named Belamour who was not so great at the helping mortals find love thing but fantastic at the warrior part. Because of this, he relied almost exclusively on his partner, Cherish's, decisions which came back to bite him REAL hard after Cherish threw Belamour under a bus when it was discovered that he had been abusing his powers of love to force mortals together in order to raise to a higher angel tier faster. Belamour eventually fell as a result of his meltdown and became a demon before being eventually found by the queen of wraiths who took him in, and fought for her in gratitude since he viewed his ability to fight the only use he could provide. When he was eventually fatally wounded, the queen managed to salvage the remains of his soul before it was lost forever and reforged him into a demon blade renamed Rydain. Rydain is significantly more powerful than before with lots of cool new demon sword abilities, but the more time passed, the more he forgot who he was and lost himself completely in the frenzy of battle, only caring about finding strong adversaries to fight and his undying loyalty to his queen. Despite quite literally being made of edge, he's surprisingly laid back and always ready to party. He joined Soleil after she unsealed him because it was funny to him and promised more fights than the other side would, though he isn't actually interested in fighting Clarissa at all since she's still his queen. He's kept his mouth shut after discovering she was alive again.

Artemisia Hasapi

Artemisia is one of head priestesses at a temple of light, though you would probably never guess that by talking to her. She is hot-headed, frivolous, and often unintentionally rude, but she does take her job seriously and is deeply distrustful of anything that would go against her goddess' teachings. She has a particularly strong hatred of demons after parents were killed by one during an attack on the temple and is the first to jump at any opportunity to fight them, no matter how dangerous. She has no recollection of her past lives at all, but she has been some form of priestess in all of them and was particularly close to Soleil in most, so it would sure suck to learn that her former bff and sometimes lover was a demon in this lifetime and the one who killed her parents (accidentally). When she's not being zealous and fighty, she's a big fan of the nightlife and video games, and can never turn down someone in need.

Lunessa Quandt

Lunessa is living proof that being a god's favorite is not necessarily a good thing. Throughout most of her previous incarnations, she was some sort of lowlife (thief, conman, etc) that weaseled her way into Soleil's group in order to get some easy rewards (preferably monetary but glory and reputation is also nice) and almost always ended up dying in some stupid way. The goddess of muses found this SO funny, that she kept reincarnating her again and again despite her low importance to the overall cycle. In the current timeline, she used to be the leader to a petty (and fairly pathetic) gang, but her position was usurped by some stupid half-demon cult boy named Arioch and she was kicked to the curb. To add insult to injury, he even managed to turn the gang around into an actual threat so her absence wasn't even particularly missed outside a couple members. Soleil found her drenched in a puddle somewhere and recognized her and so she took her in. Lunessa has zero idea who this weird chick is, but she's not going to complain about free food and dorm so ayyyye whatever. She has a demon she summoned named Zurokan back when she was trying to be intimidating but he's just a nice little guy and therefore useless to her other than someone she complains to.

Leonis was a throne to the minor goddess of purity and served faithfully by her side until she was murdered by the other gods for trying to save the demons who had fallen from them. Most of her angels scattered to serve under other gods since an angel without a god will eventually be stripped of their divinity and turn into a demon regardless of their actions and piety, but Leonis viewed this as an act of betrayal against their True Goddess and has refused to join any others in the pantheon, despite the terrifying consequence of falling. Instead he decided to descend from the divine realms to Ceres to continue the purity goddess' will himself. Unfortunately, this turned out to be more difficult than it sounded since Leonis has No experience with mortals or anyone who wasn't from his goddess' domain in general and the super fun result of that is that Leonis is taken advantage of constantly, but it's ok, he knows they can change!! He's eventually taken in by Aaryn after being dropped on his doorstep by another falling angel, Viola, he had been annoying to death. He doesn't really understand what's all going on here but he's happy to help when he's not busy trying to track down the last relics of his goddess, and has particularly taken a liking to a stray cow (???) he found in a random field and brought back to the apartment for awhile. :)

Sugarplum

Character belongs to Rikki and therefore I am stealing their summary of them:
In Sugarplum's first life, they were a cow (like an animal-animal) who refused to be tamed until Soleil horse(cow?)-girled her way into their Wild and Closed cow-heart. They bonded with her to the point they would die for her, so naturally they carried her through her future journey to defeat the evil wraith queen or whatever. When they eventually died, they were given sentience and an eternal reincarnation cycle by the (purity god??); their lifeforce bonded with Soleil's. When Soleil reincarnates, they do too, and they remember their shared past(s) much more quickly than Soleil does. Unfortunately, Soleil actually fucking sucks this time and turned to the dark side, which had an affect on Sugarplum's appearance, making them appear as a demon. Despite her becoming everything Sugarplum helped her fight over countless cycles, they just can't let go of their immense love that has kept them coming back to her in every life. Thus they stand by her as she becomes a horrible, horrible little demon spawn and they're so mad.
