Marigrace was once a seraph of the ocean deity, Nulir, but fell and became a demon for Reason I Don't Know Yet. Bitter and self-righteous about whatever that mystery reason was, she eventually decided to create her OWN deity for protection, guidance, and power, because, despite everything, they still felt lost without Nulir and couldn't imagine a world where that wasn't a thing. Anyway, she ended up finding a bunch of mortals who were lost/bitter/disillusioned with their own deities/etc and formed a cult named [NAME], whose focused beliefs and prayers eventually created a deity of vengeance, Zaire. Unfortunately, Zaire is weak and unstable and they ended up tainting their entire village, but it's fine. It's fine. Marigrace is watching over them and the community she built is slowly blossoming, even if it's a little macabre and uh..... gothic horror-y at the moment.

A shiny new deity who is like, maybe a decade or so old, idk yet. They were recently created by Marigrace's cult as a deity of vengeance, but their very existence is fairly antithetical to a "normal" deity so they are not only unstable, but their tainted aura ended up tainting the village into a gothic horror setting because I don't have one of those yet and it sounded fun. They're too weak to have any angels, so Marigrace is basically acting as their babysitter and teacher and Zaire is.......... Vaguely absorbing her teachings. Maybe. Zaire's not 100% All There yet so they're a little uncanny and have zero focus, switching thought processes and interests in an instant, but give them some time and a lot of prayers and they'll get there. Probably.

Moonfells

Moonfells is a former angel who served under the goddess of dreams, Eladaria, but fell during the period between her being killed during the god war and being reborn. He is still mad about this btw since it was not actually his fault he fell, he just ran out of grace to sustain himself. But anyway, he was allies with the water demon, Marigrace, for a while, but that ended pretty thoroughly once she got super into the idea of creating a new god for demons for various reasons, regardless of how antitheoretical that would be and started a cult around it. Moonfells tried to argue that they didn't NEED gods anymore and, perhaps more importantly, her level of blasphemy might provoke the other gods into smiting even unrelated and innocent demons for what she was doing. They had a violent disagreement that resulted in Moonfells fleeing, wounded. He was eventually found by a maraquan vandagyre named Estella who mistook him for an angel and he got a new idea. He made a deal with Estella and blessed ("blessed") her with magic in return for helping him stop Marigrace's cult before it attracted too much attention and spiraled out of control.

Still a bit of a wip, but she used to be part of a thief guild in one of the underwater kingdoms but, after a heist went horrendously wrong and resulted in casualties, she fled for land to escape, abandoning everyone else to whatever their fates were. She was eventually taken in by [??????], but the guilt continued to eat her alive no matter how much time passed. To try and help mitigate it, she began dedicating all her free time to helping others in whatever way she could and eventually ran into the injured demon, Moonfells, who she mistook for an angel. When he asked for her help to defeat a terrible evil, she immediately agreed and accepted his pact and the Moonlight Paladin was born!! She believes she's a paladin of justice who can finally make a real difference to redeem herself, but she's technically a warlock and Moonfells just alters her appearance and grants her magic similar to match whatever the hell the "magical girls" she dreams about are.

Twilimew was brought to life when some teen in the village dropped her diary in one of the tainted pools at Zaire's shrine or something, idk yet. REGARDLESS, Twilimew emerged as a reflection of both that teen's desires for revenge that they had chronicled and also all the silly giggly parts too because it was, again, a diary. While she was originally driven by revenge, she's already visited it upon everyone who deserved it according to the sacred text of her creation (teenage angst entries) and is now?? A little lost???? On what to do?????? Twilimew is currently trying to figure out an identity for themself while being a horrid shape-shifting shadow monster who is supernaturally vindictive but also has the interests of a like, fourteen year old girl. He tried convincing Marigrace that he could TOTALLY fit as an angel of vengeance but, alas, she is not buying it. :( Back to the drawing board :( :( :(
